Dear Friends,
Around Our House....
The front porch at Our House is full of action! We have barn swallow babies on the far end of the porch and hungry hummingbirds on the other end. We've learned a lot about barn swallows - they're very determined. They were insisting that they build their nest on the ledge over the front door. It took a lot of convincing and tinfoil, but finally they moved.
Many of you have met or seen JD, who keeps the Our House yard looking good. JD is having some serious medical issues, and we ask your prayers for him.
We treasure your friendship and appreciate your support. Beginning July 1, we are introducing the OHIMer award program. Each time you retreat with us, we'll document your visit. Once you have attended 8 eligible retreats, we'll present you with a $50 gift certificate toward your next retreat. For program details, click here
- As July 4th approaches, we thank God for our great country and the freedom we enjoy.
- Janet Brown retreated with us and brought us a very cute nic-nac for Our House this summer.
- Jean McKinney (Quilts 'n More) gave us an oven mitt - so we won't burn our arm as we're taking the Sister Schubert rolls from the oven. Yummm
- Jo Morton held 2 retreats at OHIM near the end of April. We enjoyed seeing Jo and all our friends from near and far. Show and Tell time was unbelievable!
- The Crafty Scrapper filled the house for their National Scrapbooking Day weekend retreat. We met lots of new friends - and everyone had a great time.
- The Deacons of the Dallas Diocese of the Episcopal Church had their third annual retreat with us. We always feel so blessed when there are spiritual retreats at OHIM.
- Sherri and Friends helped us usher May out with lots of laughter and scrapbooking!
- We spent Memorial Day weekend at home with our families. Hope all of you had a good weekend, too!
- Common Threads hosted a teaching retreat with Harriet Hargrave. Harriet is a great teacher, and the students went home with all kinds of new sewing techniques.
- Quilts 'n More retreated at Our House in mid-June. There were lots of projects completed that weekend! Of course, knowing this group, there was lots of laughter and fun, too.
- Jan & Darlene showed up with their friends for a weekend of quilting, eating and laughing. A small group joined them, and new friendships were formed. We were grateful that they brought the rain with them. We almost went out into the yard to do a Happy Dance. :-)

- Halloween is only 4 months away. It's time to plan your costume and make your reservation at the OHIM 3rd annual Spookfest. Costumes aren't required - but are highly encouraged. The grand prize drawing winner will receive a gift certificate for 50% off the next retreat. Contact us to add your name to the reservation list.
-Our May 2011 special has one weekend left - 5/27, which is Memorial Day weekend.. If you book the weekend and bring 15 paying guests, your retreat will be free. Contact us to make your reservation.

We've decided to have our friends help us close Our House for Christmas. We're holding a "Clean Out the Freezer" retreat December 3-5. The cost of the retreat is $125 + 6% hotel tax! An extended retreat, December 2-5 will cost $175 + 6% hotel tax! Contact us to sign up.

- July 22-26 - The Quilting Sisters of Color will return for their 3rd annual retreat. This is one fun group of ladies - and very talented, too!
- July 29-Aug 1 - The Birthday Girls are coming back! They'll be joined by Ronna and friends from the Ready to Sew Bernina in Cedar Park. Contact us if you want to join in the fun.
- August 6-8 - The women of the Congregation of Kol Ami will be holding their annual spiritual retreat at Our House.
- August 12-15 - It's time to knit again! Ronda from the Shabby Sheep is sponsoring a UFO knitting/crocheting retreat. Ronda always has new ideas to share at her retreats. Contact The Shabby Sheep to sign up for the retreat.
- August 18-22 - The Divas will be at Our House. - FULL
- August 26-29 - Jennifer Cotton is hosting a retreat for her Stampin' Up! team . The creative juices will be flowing all weekend.
- September 2-5 Labor Day Weekend - Labor Not! Join us for and ALL CRAFT UFO. Last year, this retreat was a big hit - the best of all worlds. You can have fun all weekend and still be home on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the Labor Day holiday! Contact us to register.
